Normal toe guy here. I also had a girl in college tell me that she would never sleep with a guy in full quill boots, so I have always bought smooth quill.

The Luchesse Boots that I see listed (Square Toe) do not have the Ostrich that wrap all the way around the backside of the boot. I want full Ostrich on the bottom.

Great Book Moser... I read it in 3 days, and I am a guy who hates to read. I was hooked!!!

          One of my favorites.

Luckesse, Bean, Mahan, Tony Loma all good boots. But if they have 6 pair of the exact same boot, try them all on. Every boot feels different.

I tried them on but nothing was as comfortable as my round toe Luchesse
I just don't like the look of them at all.

I like the round toe. Just can't get myself to buy the square toe. Everytime I try a pair on and look down they look wierd.

I wear boots everyday. One pair of Mahan boots I had resoled at least 5 times and I think it was 8 times before the smooth quill gave out. No need to throw a $250 pair of boots out just because the sole is worn out.

A lot of them leave the back of the heel smooth for spurs, Matt.

On another related note. I just can not bring myself to wear boots that have these outragious uppers. You know what I'm talking about, pink, Turquoise, patchwork, etc. I'm not judging people that do. I just think that boots are a functional footwear, and of course you have your dress boots that look good too. But I don't get them as a fashion accessory?
I went to buy some squared toed boots thinking they would be more comfortable and they are obviously popular, so I wouldn't look like a fool wearing them, but I could not find any subdued enough for my tastes.
They had big white stiching, or double stiching on the toe and did not look right on my foot. The girl helping told me that it will fade and I will get used to them, but if I am dropping that much for boots I want to like them alot as is.
(I am nowhere close to being a rancher or cowboy, I do like to get out doors and hike, camp, hunt, and fish, 7-4 I am at the office behind a desk) so take my opinion just as that an opinion

I don't all the way understand the loud tops myself. I wear my jeans over my boots so I don't care about the tops that much (makes it easy to get the right boots in a dark closet though). But there are some way back in the sticks, born on the back of a horse types out the west of here who will buy the loudest 15" tops they can find.........and jeans will never see the outside of'em!

When my wife got me my first square toes I initally balked at them. It took a while for me to get use to them. After you wear them a while they lose some of that square look.

Anyone know the name of that place, I think I heard about it on ABC13 last week.

I hate square toes shoes/boots but I am not into fashion...at all. I wear regular 'ol boots for everything. That being said, if I am going to be impartial, I would get the regular toed boots. They will always be "in style." Square toed boots will eventually go out like very other fashion trend.
