Like many of you dog owners (especially lab owners), sweeping up dog hair is a daily chore that really gets old. That stuff will dang sure clog a vaccum cleaner too. I first saw the "Furminator" deshedding tool at the vet's office last year - it looked like it worked well but I was put-off by the price. ($54 for the big one) On impulse I bought one Saturday at PetsMart - and I gotta tell you it's the best idea since they started putting handles on suitcases. I took ol' Buck out on the patio and in about 10 minutes had removed enough hair to stuff a mattress. The hair is easy to remove from the tool too - push of a button.

I wouldn't mind if I had a doghouse out there w/ the proper insulated bedding and/or a heat lamp.
As it is, my lab stay out in the day and comes in at night. I don't think my wife would let me keep him outside now if I wanted to...

I use mine every couple of days. It's just a brush designed to get all of the loose hair from your dogs undercoat, kind of like dethatching your yard. If you keep your dog inside and have shedding issues this is a must have product.
