how to get smoke smell out of hunting gear

Bought my wife a new set of Redhead boots, and they smell like
cigarettes... what are some of your best methods to eliminate
    that odor?

Already sprayed it with my scentlok boot spray... very little effect..

Smoke them in smoke from wood or leaves that are prevalent in your area.

Spray them with vanilla and leave them in the back of your truck for a couple of days.

Throw 'em in the washing machine with scent-free soap. Maybe twice. Then dry them with one of the scent-free dryer sheets. Then dust 'em inside and out with baking soda just for good measure.

Put the boots and a box of baking soda in a sealed container and let the baking soda absorb the odor. Darned smokers.

Grab a bottle of white lightning from Academy, shake it up and spray them down real good. I haven't tried it on cigarette smoke but it works for plain old campfire smoke, I made Legdog a believer. It is the only scent elimination product I use.

I would not worry about it at all. Just wear them.

Why treat something for campfire smoke? The only thing the Indians used for scent control and try to find something that works better and costs little. Smoking clothes actually kills bacteria that makes odor.

straight 5% acidity vinegar will kill the odor. Spray them down and let them air out for a few days then when the vinegar scent goes away hose the down really good and thats it volla!
