Fellow TBH to get me home.....

I am in Crystal Beach and in some major need to get me home. I was on the beach and broke my front ( four wheel drive shaft) and am in the need of someone to get me home. The Dodge service said that I would need to get it off the beach so that someone (wrecker) could get it somewhere, but they were not sure. I would try to take it off so I could get home but I have no tools. I have had Dodge's all my life and have never had any problems, but this is the first. Please let me know, I am supposed to be on a plane monday morning back to California back to work. Please help.... All I want is to get home. I pulled a trailer with me with my four wheeler on it that will also need to get home.........

i called you and spoke to your wife. she said you were asleep. she said you got off the beach so that was good.

i was up and sounded like a good road trip in the middle of the night. plus anytime i get to hook up to a dodge or chevy with my ford it is a good day

hope everything works out for you

If its just the front shaft, just remove it and take it out of 4w and it should drive just fine...

This morning I went the local hardware store and the only Torx bit they had was the actual one that fit. I was able to get it off and am able to drive it now. The bad part is the shaft caught some wire as it was spinning now I have no lights.

Last night I was in a panic, bad and mad.

                  Thanks,

Having a Dodge RAM, and livining in CA, I feel your pain bro.

Glad it got back on the road. If your business is in the SF Bay area, send me a PM with contact info I'm in (...duh...) San Jose, not ever enough bow hunters- need to "import" them from out of state.

When you redo/ rebuild it, upgrade the u joints to Spicers too, you can get them at 4 Wheel Parts. A couple $ more for a lot better part than stock.

hay gary, depending on the model year and from what u say about the torx that u needed to get the front shaft off u have a newer DR body style, if you look above the front diff along the edge of the inner fender there is a wiring harness that runs the from theTIPM (totally integrated power module) down i belive along the frame. That wire that u spoke of prolly ripped that up that harness. Also, if you were in any water that could have splashed up inside your engine comp. you should check the ABS control module conn. for water. All it takes is 1 drop and it will cause tons of problems. If you find that the harness is ripped up, and you try to repair it yourself, use double wall heat shrink after you soldier them up. This will make for a good water proof seal, not allowing corosion(sp). Make DAM sure u match up the colors correctly or you could burn the TIPM up and you will be sorry if you do that!!!! PM me if you need help over the phone or something like that.

i also can't belive you broke that front yoke like that. must have been some serious 4 wheelin going on there. i loved taking my jeep down there when we lived in anahauc, it is a blast.

                          Bill,

I will be in Long Beach.

                          Jason,

The only wires that were damaged were the ones for my lights and my fuel guage. I had a half of a tank before it happened but now it is on e. I though I might have gotten a fuel line but if a half of a tank of fuel would have spilled out I would smell it and I don't. I never went in the water so I think I am ok on the ABS. I hope like hell my warranty will cover this, not sure. It only has 3.000 miles on it.

Gary WHATEVER YOU TELL THEM DO NOT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THE WIRE. JUST TELL THEM SOME BS STORY THAT DOESN'T INVOLVE AN OUTSIDE ELEMENT OF DESTRUCTION. I LOVE DODGE TRUCKS BUT THEIR CUST. SERVICE AFTER THE SALE IS THE WORST. HOPE IT WORK OUT FOR YA

From what I read when the shaft broke ans was freely spinning under the truck it caught the wire harness... Warranty should cover that... did you catch any fish?
