got to throw in a vote for CAMP HUAWNI in Timpson, TX.

I was a camper for 4 and a counselor for 3. It's run by a good christian family.

                Bobby,
Kaitlynn will be going to Kickapoo Kamp in Kerrville for her 4th time this summer and Traci's daughter will be going for her 5th. Traci also went there as a teenager. It has been around since 1925 so they must be doing something right. The nice thing about it is that they limit the number of campers for each term to about 100 girls so it doesn't become too overwhelming. Cabin sizes are small, usually about 10 girls plus two counselors. Kaitlynn only goes for 1 two week term but there are some girls who go for multiple terms. Give Laura Hodges a call and she will answer most any question you might have. The one thing I can tell you is that no matter what camp you choose I think that they are very beneficial for most of the girls that attend them, I immediately saw a difference in Kaitlynn after her first term.

I actually asked Kaitlynn if she might be interested in going here because of the more modern facilities and activities but she said she would rather keep with Kickapoo and the tradition that it has.

The best place to host your retreat or celebration. Lone Hollow Ranch for leadership retreats, adult and student retreats. Wedding and event venues.

Never knew there will still camps like this around for kids.
The few camps I went to as a kid all we learned about is things I dont want my kids to learn about. LOL

Just kidding, is pretty cool that there are some good camps out there.

                    Camp Champions
                    Camp Longhorn

both in the hill country. Both great camps. They last longer but are sort of pricey.

If you are looking for a Christian Church Camp I would highly recommend SLUMBER FALLS CAMP. It's in New Braunfels on the Guadalupe River. Went every year until I was a senior in high school and then was a counselor after that. Its broken up into age groups and I think they are about a week long! Very cheap and affordable and you can take a trip to historic Gruene, TX when you go pick her up!

www.campgradyspruce.org Absolutely the best. It's on Possum Kingdom Lake. Financial assistance available if needed. I have worked there for 18 years and I can honestly say we make a difference in childrens lives. You can read the parents testimonies online I believe.

Have you considered TBarM in New Braunfels. It is a great camp with good Christian counselors. Many activities the kids will enjoy.

I'd highly recommend Camp Mystic in Hunt, Texas. (www.campmystic.com). Great camp, great family that runs it and is based off Christian value.
