At our place outside Victoria AT&T doesnt get service except for on the top of the hill and then its only one bar. I have sprint and my buddies have verizon they both work fine. i also brought my girl down this year and lost my excuse of not having good service. oh well at least i got to go hunting with her. Sprint also worked in Freer the last time i was down there but it was spotty.
I have several areas I hun and travel. My cabin in Seadrift my AT&t does not work real well but My Verizion does but if I go to Port O Connor my Verizion is dead in the water. In Brady both work well when I go to Groesbeck my Verizion works better then my At&t. I am lucky my company phone is a AT&t and my personal is a Verizion so most of the time I am covered.
north of sabinal(uvalde county) and 15 miles from a paved road in edwards county and we get great reception from at&t... i might add that here at home(devine) we had sprint and could not get calls in the house (had to go outside to receive or make as call). now that we have at&t we get it in the house just like the city folk....
My oldest son has AT&T, as do I. My youngest is with Sprint. We hunted Gillespie County out of Harper and text each other about what we've seen, ain't seen, and shot. At least the ones with AT&T do...the other eventually gets the messages if the moon is 1/4 new, sun shining, and the raccoons ain't eat the corn off the feeder.
At home, I tried Verizon and seldom could get a signal to receive or make a call (I live just outside of town). Switched to AT&T several years ago and ain't had a problem. Verizon's ads are very deceptive and outright lies in my experience.
Throckmorton....AT&T is the only service we can pick up at our ranch...Spotty though...unless you stand on the truck and hold out your left leg..That doesn't really work, but its funny when you trick somebody into doing it....Twice
I hunt in Coleman county and the minute I left 20 to head south, my Verizon service would stop. Switched to AT&T and get pretty good service all over the hunting grounds.
Polk and Tyler Counties. I have Nextel through work, and IF you are on the right hill with the wind blowing out of the east, and you are standing on your head holding a 200" set of horns that you just killed then you will have service, other wise use a AT&T prepaid
