bleaching deer heads??

i have been getting all the meat off this skull for awhile and made a pretty sweet backboard at school in woodshop but i went to a beauty place to get the peroxide i thought would make it white but when i go there, aside from the weird looks i get we i try to explain that i dont want something that will dye it blonde, lol but just peroxide. they never understand but are there any other ways that i can bleach it?

i only use 40% peroxide from Sallys Beauty Supply! Soak the cleaned boiled skull for 24 to 36 hours

to be honest, my dad went to bass pro to get this bleaching kit i know i saw on their website, but they didn’t have it. and this guy there told him to go to sally’s to get that stuff and i did and they just looked at me with a blank stare...

lol....not down here in Corpus, they keep it in stock for us hunters. They sell more to us than they do to the beauty shops

Just go in to Sally's and ask if they have any "Salon Care 40 volume clear". They probably do and will not understand what for. There is me and one other hunter that goes into the store at the one I shop at. I've been going for about 6 or 7 years now and she remembers me every time now.

there you go ^^^^ If you know a barber or a beautician to buy it for you cause they get a big discount. I actually was given a discount card by one of the ladies get 25% off i believe

you can also get a blonde dying kit and just take the powdered bleach out of it and it makes a paste when you mix it with water, Then just paint on the paste onto the skull and leave it for about 45min or 1hr and walaw! A bleached white skull!

Here was my introduction into it.....40 volume creme worked for me....as my Sally's didnt have the 40 volume clear...

If you ask them for developer, you won't get the funny looks.
Like eradicator said, get the 40 volume clear.

I use the regular peroxide from CVS or Walgreens, it is alot cheaper and just takes 3-4 days to bleach it white. A taxidermist told me to use it if I was not on a time frame.

Murph. Is it regular hydrogen peroxide? I have a head in the freezer I need to start on.
