That brown bottle stuff is what? 1-2% peroxide and $1.75 for 32 ounces at Walmart? or $7 a gallon

The 20 volume clear at Sally's is 6% peroxide at $7.99 a gallon... I needed a gallon per head and by the numbers above, you are basically saving a $1 for 3-6 times less peroxide....and twice as long on the soak. Seems like the stuff at Sally's is a better price......

40% lottion with whiting powder works great. 40% lottion cost 14.99 a gallon and the powder 2.95 a bag. Mix half bag powder with about 4 to 6oz. of lottion paint on head with one inch. brush wait about 12 to 24 hours and wash off with water if not white enough repeat. The gallon of 40% will do alot of heads you need a bag of whiting powder per head.

For all DIYer Euro folks.....Sally's Beauty Supply Peroxide or Developer, as it is called, is listed by "volume" on the bottle not to be confused with "percentage."

          40 Volume = 12% peroxide
          30 Volume = 9% peroxide
          20 Volume = 6% peroxide
          10 volume = 3% peroxide

I found this out the hard expensive way.....

Yep just the regular old brown bottle stuff that is cheap. I don't know where a Sally's is and since I can get the same results with the easy to find cheap stuff, I don't have to lose my man-card.

I have been told that bleach will slowly deteriorate the skull making it brittle.

Go back to the beauty store get you a tub of Clairol Basic White and a bottle of their 40% peroxide.

Mix the basic white up with the peroxide constency will be like mayonaise and slather it on the skull with a paintbrush.
Let it dry over night and use the same brush to brush away the powder residue. Will be white as snow.

This is all a euro kit from a taxidermy supply store is.
