After talking to one of my afore-mentioned friends this evening, I'll be heading in this week to get a Droid. We'll see what happens...

My guess is, they will announce it at their product event in 3 days on the 27th putting an end to ATT's exclusive hold on the iphone.

Love my iphone coupled with Mobileme it is great! For those of you who have a MAC and an Iphone consider Mobileme. Love putting appts, contacts into my iphone and having it sync down to my macs ical and address book automatically. Cheaper to get mobileme at Amazon too by the way.

MobileMe also publishes your iWeb site to the net for you. You never see this feature in the advertisements for MobileMe but I think its one of the best features.

I switched from iPhone to the Droid and could not be happier. I actually like the Droid better...and I get Verizon's network instead of AT&T's, which sucked.

Wonder if the price will drop on the iphones, if Verizon is gonna start carrying them also?

IMO and certainly at our lease, AT & T offers the best cell signal/coverage which caused me to switch to them. However, as far as dropped calls - they certainly take first place in that category. At least 2 to 3 dropped calls per day with AT & T in the Dallas area.

Supposedly on 1/27 the changes about the iPhone and other networks. AT&T and Apple both have scheduled press events.

I had to switch from Verizon to AT&T to get coverage at the lease. So I guess who's coverage is better depends on where you need it. Since I spend a lot of time at the lease by myself it was critical that I have service.

Just saw this article today regarding Apple releasing the iPhone to all US carriers in the next 18 months.
