Question for CHL holders.

First off be HONEST with your responses.

Who carry's all the time where its legal to do so....

Who carry's only when they feel unsafe...

Who has a CHL and dont carry, give honest answer why you dont carry.




I'll start this off with saying I carry EVERYWHERE I can legally do so all the time, for one simple reason, I REFUSE TO BE A VICTIM.

While I'm in my truck 100% of the time. Out and about 70% of the time.

I should carry more often.

100% of the time I carry. I have, and I am just being honest, carried where I did not know if it was legal or not, but it looked unsafe to me. I always feel better with a little cold metal pressed against my hip.

I have my CHL and have never carried.

Reasons:
1. Until very recently I have not been set up to carry. My first pistol was an XD 45 5" tactical which is too large and I did not have a good holster. I now have a Kimber Ultra Carry II and a good IWB holster and am finally physically comfortable wearing it concealed.

2. No firearms allowed at work. Even in the parking lot. Lots of off duty cops roaming the facility for security. I don't want to risk leaving it in the truck while working.

I will have it on me in the near future.

I've had mine for a couple of months, I have not carried yet. One reason, I have not purchased a good concealed carry holster.

Hardly ever.

But I travel in some fairly 'safe' circles.

When seconds count, the HP police are already there (usually with someone on the ground at gunpoint!)

I swear there must be a hundred of them within a ten block radius....

For the first few months after I got my CHL....never. Finally found the right carry gun for me. Now it's 100% of the time when it's legal to do so.

I have the little Ruger LCP on me most of the time... There are some days that I am running behind and forget to grab it before I head out..

I wouldn't bet against me having one on me. Often two. And sometimes, if I'm in an uncomfortable situation, an extra mag too.

Maybe 75% of the time. If I go to Dallas or Austin it's 100% of the time.

The only times I don't carry is to work and to the hospital where my grandson was born. The hospital had a 30.06 posted...
Otherwise I have my Sig P250 compact 9mm on my backside and if an establishment post a 30.06 I don't enter. I figure if they don't want me packing, they don't want my business!!
Now I "could" get by the work issue as our policy states "No Weapons" except as allowed by law. Not sure what their intent is but being a union employee I would get my job back...
But we have had several vehicles stolen from the parking lots in the last 2 months so I really don't want to leave it there.
