    Johnny, if you found pottery do you think now that it's a Caddo site? They were the kings of pottery making apparently. Keep an eye out for rusted stuff too. They used a lot of metal in their daily lives (best I can tell) in the latter years.

      Is there a website to go to to find out how to get started in artifact hunting?

          Man Johnny these threads always make me jealous. If you ever need someone to work a shovel to take a few from you let me know. Of if you would rather do some indian trading (arrowheads for greenback), let me know. I just want 1 shadowbox/picture frame of them to hang on the wall in my office.

                      Here's a good website if you want info about archaeology in Texas.



                      Lot's of info on laws protecting archaeological resources. Most apply only on public lands.
