They are starting to ship right now - slowely. I don't expect mine for another 6 months, but its worth the wait. They are getting .25-.6" 5 shot groups out of the 16" barrels.

Me personally, I like cans that are Quick Detach. I'm a big fan of all things AAC, they have great QD models. Currently I have an AAC M4-1000 and am awaiting a clean bill of health on an AAC Aviator .22 can (should be back in the next couple weeks), and just sent off for my SBR Spike's 9mm and EVO 9mm can. I'm planning one more can right now. Next up is the AAC 762 SD for all of my 30 cal and down cans. The great thing about the 762 SD can uses the same flash hider mount as the M4-1000, so you can put a QD mount on any standard round South of 308 (except wild cat rounds and other higher pressure rounds).

I plan on doing at least 5 total cans in all. I really want a 338 can to withstand up to 300win mag.

Cans are awesome. Once you're in you're hooked.

    Maddox,

How long till the OBR's ship?

I would be all over the 762SD if they made a 51T adaptor for it. And Im not the only one, there is a HUGE group over on Silencer Talk trying to get them to upgrade it. They did it once for a special run and everyone loves them.

I would go with the Scar suppressor if they made a break for it instead of a flashhider.

You're not going to put a can on "the" black gun?

Grrrr! That is awesome! I'm thinking about an 18" if they are planning on that length. I want one bad! Mind pming me what it ran you?

I hear you on the 51T, After a mag my m4-1000 will loosen up just a hair, still tight but a little loose. I need to call AAC to get a new detent.

Do you have a tuning fork effect with your blackouts? Mine all have a ring after merely bumping them? That common?

          Bearintex,

I'd love a cyclops but, I'd rather spend 4K on another gun.

The OBR was $2499 before Jan 1, 2010. Now they are $2999. They have a 18" model, but with the accuracy they are getting out of 16" models I figured I would take up the extra length by adding a can.

Yeah, the Blackout and the Vortex both sound like a tuning fork when hit. Its common and there really isn't much that can be done about it. Im putting AAC's break on my SBRs.

Forgot to add, when I do the 762 SD I'm planning on suppressing my AK, Fal, encore, and OBR when I get it one day.

                        Blake,

Take a look at the aac Ranger for direct thread on. I like the quick detach for AR's but I would save the coing and go direct thread for a turn bolt. I tend to agree with cc and really have no use for a can on bolt varmint gun as not a whole lot of shooting to hurt the ears. They will however help with w/ muzzle blast and would almost eliminate what little recoil you already have.

I just took possesion of a YHM Stainless Phantom and think it's THE value on the market for a black gun can. I'll try and work on some pics tomorrow. These toys really come into play when dealing with the sbr's

I do have an itch for a 308 can on a 700 ltr cut down to 16" for some weird reason....stupid nfa disease.
