Shameless plug for Redfish Grill for anybody in NW Houston. Try the wasabi lime sauce!

It is the reddish/orange Vietnamese/Chinese hot sauce with the Rooster on the bottle. It is a big plastic jug and usually has a green nozzle if I remember right.

I used to think sushi was for girls until my kung fu teacher recommended it. He's a serious bad a** so if it's ok for him it's ok for me. And it's came to be one of my favorite kinds of food. So I say man card's intact. Since sushi's japanese would a samurai eat it if they were around today?

There are a couple rolls that I like, but you'd have to ask my wife which ones they are. I still try to avoid the stuff though.

California roll? I don't like 'em.
Sushi can be either raw or cooked, it's served with rice or something else and shashimi is raw and served alone without rice or whatever.
x2 on unagis- smoked, fresh water eel served warm with the sweet sauce all over them is my favorite. There is a Japantown in SJ that was settled by the Japanese (no surprise) during the late 1800s with some of the best sushi restaurants I've eaten at.
The 1st time I ate sushi I was on the west coast on a business trip living on the east coast (nice way to avoid saying New Jersey) and met a friend from high school who lived in the SF bay area. As we were walking-in, the police and EMTs were wheeling somebody out on a cart with a bullet wound in their buttocks from an armed robbery and being in the wrong place at the wrong time. My friend looked at me and said, "let's eat here- what's the odds of it happening twice in the same sushi restaurant in one night?".
