best round for what ... target, deer, varmints, hogs, etc.... ?

all rifles and barrels have different personalities towards various ammo

best recomendation, buy 2-3 boxes of ammo and see which one your rifle likes best

if you have several friends who also shoot the 22-250, have them go in on the ammo to reduce cost

white box Winchestor USA is hard to beat for price and accuracy , 40 rd box

just bought the same gun in .308. It liked Federal Premium. It would not shoot Remington Ballistics or Winchester Silvertips.

I just loaded some Berger Bullets with Winchester brass and got a .358 5 shot group.

        So far so good..

nice gun, should be a good one for a long time

X2 on that. My 22-250 shoots the white box winchestors better than anything else.

The Best thing you can do for that gun is to make sure you "break it in" properly. Every year I see folks buy new rifles and not break them in properly. If you break it in properly that gun will be one of the best shooting rifles you will own.

Of course getting everyone to agree on what the "proper" break in is isn't easy. I clean between the first five shots, then every three rounds for the rest of the box, and then every 5 rounds for the second box.

you just bought a $600 + rifle , spend $100 and buy some good cleaning supplies so your barrel will last several thousand rds.

Sweet! You'll love it. Now trying to decide on bullet weight, scope, handload vs. factory, which factory load............... fun stuff.

I have the same gun in a .300 WSM, and it is the most accurate gun I have ever owned. I can consistently shoot three hole groups touching each other. You might check into changing the stock since the ones those rifles come with are very cheap feeling. I changed mine to a Hogue rubber overmolded stock that was a take off from a remigton SPS tactical. I think I got it for around $75 off of ebay. It has aluminum bedding pillars which help to stiffen the stock a bit. Whether you decide to change the stock or keep the factory one, good purchase.

I second the Dewey one piece rods and bore guides. Get some good jigs too.
