my kids also have a "elf on the shelf"

you can get them at Barnes & Noble @ $30 and it comes with a Christmas Book about the elf story

our elf named "Robin" was spotted on a raft in the swimming pool this a.m.

kids freaked out when they saw him in the pool

my daughter had me go rescue him as she was afraid elves can't swim

i'll post a pic up later as camera is in vehicle and it's raining cats & dogs right now

creepy, I don't think I could sleep with that thing in my house. I hate dolls, never even played with them when I was little.

We really don't do the whole Santa thing. My son is 4 and doesnt really care about Santa, he know's momma buys him presents

We do the Elf thing as well. My wife has a great time placing the Elf in different places, being mischievous, eating the cookies left out, etc. My six year old little girl loves it.

my brothers kids have one and this thing is silly. My niece is 4 and she named him YoYo Farbes. (Where do they come up with this stuff????) I laughed and asked her is he was kin to Brett Favre and she told me to go to time out and quit messing around with Santa business cause it was serious. Both kids sure do step up the good behavior when he is around.

That is sad, to me Santa represents the innocence of a child and I will embrace it until she is ready to outgrow it.

I took him to see Santa but I really don't think he buys it, he noticed that the Santa's all look different. He's not your typical 4 yr old and I'm not going to lie or try to talk him into believing in Santa. I don't have him for Christmas this year so we opened presents on Monday. I told him that Santa came by while he was at school and he gave me that "yeah right" look. Growing up we never did the whole santa thing and I turned out just fine.
