    Elf on a Shelf(Almost Done)!!!!

So has anyone else been running around like a fool trying to remember to hide this thing in a different spot everyday? My mother-in-law bought my girls one THEY LOVE IT, it has been a nightmare for me, but i do enjoy watching my 4yr old get excited over it every morning. But thankfully it is almost time for our elf to go home for the year

I feel your pain! I've lost sleep trying to remember if the elf has "moved". My 4 year old also likes looking for him. Last night my son was not making "right choices" so the elf made an emergency trip to the North Pole. My son started to get upset that the elf was gone and began to make "right choices". This morning the elf was late getting back to the house and was almost caught.

We have a almost 4 and almost 2 and they love looking first thing in the morning trying to find Jarif (that is the name my son picked). They love the thing and it has helped out a lot with threats of him flying back to Santa to tell him how they have been that day.

Can someone share the story of this 'elf'? And a picture? I'm very intrigued.

Here he is. We've done it for a few years now. This year I have slipped bad on moving him, but I just tell the kids its becasue there is a bad snowstorm at the North Pole and he couldn't get home. He's been riding out a storm for a couple of days now on my steak branding iron.

There is a storybook that comes with it. Santa sends the elf to your house and every night he is supposed to report to Santa on how the kids behaved that day. In the morning he's in a different place like he actually left. They liked it in years past, but this year my 5 year old has said a few times, "I think that elf is just a toy!"

Another thing my kids love is some stencils my wife found somewhere that you put on the floor and sprinkle baking soda on and it looks like Santa Claus walked through the house. I usually make it look like he really walked around the house and looked at some stuff. One year I got about 10 or 12 empty beer cans and scattered them all over the livingroom and put foot prints in front of my recliner like he sat down and helped himself to a few cold ones. My boy thought that was hilarious that Santa drank daddy's beer! Grandma sure was proud that morning when she called. I will have to see if I can find some of those pics.

                          Found 'em!

Here is what the stencil looks like.

                          The path in 2007

From 2006 when Santa stole my beer!

The kids go nuts when they see the footprints. Every year I play it up like I'm mad that he made a mess and tell them I'm not going to allow him to come back the next year cause I have to clean up his mess. Bryce laughed and laughed that Santa drank my beer and just threw the cans around in 2006. I need to think up something new for this year. I actually just told Bryce I was going to leave a note and have him put the stuff on the front porch cause I didn't want to clean up his mess!

Is this the same game that Michael was playing at Nanza last year?
