    How many have downsized?

When the gas prices shot up, who bought more economical vehicles? What'd you buy?

Been there and done that....... I promised myself I would never own a mototrcycle as my olny form of transportation again. I spent to many days and nights sitting in traffic as it poured down rain, snow, sleet on me.

Gas can be $10 a gallon and I will get ride of my bike way before I get rid of my truck.

I bought a bike last year. It did help with gas, but if there was even 20% chance of evil precipitation, the truck won out!

I am amazed when people spend thousands of dollars to save $50 per month?

A friend of mine used to say, "I'm going for economy, no matter what it cost me!"

Couldn't really see gettin' a smaller suv that MIGHT get 5 or 6 miles a gallon better than our Yukon. I guess the pinhead tree huggers that whine about the suv's don't realize that to haul the 5 of us and our stuff around I'd have to pull a trailer or take TWO small cars........that'd be ALOT more efficient huh! I've still got a crew cab 4x4 with a 454 in it! Thank goodness for car #3.....a corolla, that's the one we put most of the miles on.

My wife decided to go from a Honda Accord to a Honda Civic. I must say the civic is a **** nice little car. I really didn't think she would be happy going to a smaller car but she loves it and gets right at 40mpg. I know that is more than it is supposed to get but that is what the numbers say.

I didn`t down size because we have a 2002 accord that gets good milage.I have a dodge 2003 2500 4x4 with a 5.9 cummins that gets around 21 on highway. I had been averaging around 12,000 miles per year on my truck but when deisel got up near the 5.00 range we only drove it when we had to .I had a 12 month period where I only drove 7,000 miles in my truck. WE just drove less.

My truck's paid. Gas only is cheaper than gas + payments. I'll stick with my truck.

I have no payments on vehicles either. I'll buy the gas and still be money ahead.

I went the oppisite way. When gas shot up I bought a truck that gets 10MPG as a steal. I will say I'll probally be selling it next month so I can get a diesel so I can pull more.

Before gas and diesel went through the roof, I bought a new to me 04 4x4 Dodge quad cab diesel. Diesel went up and up along with the price of gas and everybody I know gave me grief over my purchase until they found out I was getting nearly double the fuel economy out of the new truck over the old one. Diesel was $1 more than gas at the peak, but I could go nearly twice as far on a gallon for the price difference, so my fuel bill cut way back.
