Only a penishead would give you a ticket for having game meat in a freezer at your place of business..

    Too dang many lawyers..

      Thanks Kevin,

That's the way I read it too.

This is one of those laws that will never make sense. I have called Austin, talked to GWs, and read the regs. Long story short, you can get a game processing log book from TP&W to keep at your office and it is then a legal processing location. Even though it is not required for a private processing facility.

since you process your game at your shop (processing facility) and you have a deep freeze (cold storage) it qualifies.
If that is a direct quote of the regs then the phrase "permanent residence" is probably what the GW was focusing on.

I have a friend who had a game warden tell him he could process completely at his ranch house since he was the owner of the property even though his residence is 3 hrs away. This was on opening day of Bow season this year. This is one of those laws that needs to be re done to make it completely clear.

I was told the same being the landowner, however I was told I needed to keep a log, and needed a note from the landowner. The regs also state that a log is not needed with a private processing facility. Makes perfect sense.

I thought Cali's game laws were bizarre and ambiguous, you guys trump me on this one.

Brandon is a Montgomery County based Warden. If your office is in Montgomery County and you are worried about it I have the mobile number of a Montgomery County Warden that can help.

I would hope most GW wouldn't push this too hard. Definitely needs to be rewritten.

It helps to refer to the definitions provided by the state.

Final Destination for Pronghorn Antelope, Deer, and Turkey means:
The permanent residence of the person who takes the antelope, deer, or turkey; the permanent residence of the person who receives the antelope, deer, or turkey or part of the antelope, deer, or turkey; or a cold storage/processing facility.

                              Permanent Residence:

Too many confusing laws when it comes to wild game hunting. I aught to stick with pigs and let the deer walk, but I won't.
