The new Bad Boy XT is not just a golf cart on roids, it has a new independant MacPherson suspension, 40HP@160FTLB of torque, all disc brakes, and has been redesigned from the previous models. I think I got one of the first 5 of the LSV versions made in the US, and it was delivered last week along with a title, VIN number, and everything else you need for the $5590 tax credit. If you don't already have one on order, you aren't going to get one before the Dec 31st deadline. I will reserve giving a review until I actually get to use it

The owner of the 2000 acre ranch I work on pt time bought one a couple of years ago and regrets it. Batteries don't last and he runs his with about 1/2 the air let out of the tires so he doesn't bounce out of it. 4x4, but use it very much and you won't make it back to the camphouse, batteries will be dead.

I went through this a couple years ago, needed to upgrade from the 4-wheeler b/c my family was starting to hunt with me. After much research on these and the UTV's, I decided for that kind of money and what I needed I could buy a nice jeep/hunting buggy!!!!! Wound up with a nice 74' Scout II for the ranch (and at half the price) and haven't regretted it once!!!

              Yeah that is insane right??

I personally think they are worth maybe 1/3rd of that price, around $4000.

Especially when you can get a brand new, rigged out Teryx, Ranger, or Rhino for less than that. ..

My opinion on them is "Would be a cool extra toy if you already had something to do the real work"

you think they are expensive take a look at the Stealth, I called them yesterday and they are wanting almost 16k. To boot the guy was fricken rude as all get out when I asked a few questions like:

why are you a few more thousand then BBB?

answer? well everyone knows why . . . . . apparently i don't so why dont' you tell me . . . . . .well they use two motors for 4x4 and we use a single motor blah blah blah. I say well wouldn't it make more sense that two electric motors would be more powerful turning 4 wheels then one exact same motor that now has to turn all four. "well that don't make sense" . . . . what part? . . . . the whole thing two motors means one more thing to break! Ok i get that but what about the power issue i'm worried i'll get stuck . . . . well you won't. . . . . ok just because you said i won't i'm sure i won't.

Can you tell me how they advertise a better battery life? No it's proprietary. . . . ha sir i'm not asking for the schematic just the understanding of what they do differently. I really want to convince myself to buy an electric instead of a ranger. Well I don't know what to tell you but that if you want a Stealth thats what I got.

                Scratch Stealth of the list

I also called three people selling used BBB's yesterday and their stories were not promising. Raleigh up here on TBH has one and I've seen him run it through pretty thick stuff and never complained but I think he may be the exception vs the rule.

I just put my money into fixing my roads so I can use my "cheap" 2WD golf carts. That $495 for a brand new 48v 4 passenger cart that will go 25mph with a 50mile range is looking better and better.

Electric buggies are way over rated and I believe they engage if somewhat false advertising. Oh and they are also way overpriced for what you get. By the way they get stuck easier that you think and if you are having to fight through mud with it in 4 wheel drive good luck making it back to camp before the battery dies on you if you get out of the mud to start with. Just when you get back to camp and think of something you didint do and you want to run back to the blind or feeder for some reason just pull on over to the outdoor outlet and charge it up for hours first and then you can go back out. It may be loud but I will keep my gas powered 4 wheeler, It goes when I am ready to go.

You can get a new 2010 base model Ranger starting at about 7500.00. WIth the electric stuff going at top $, don't overlook their gas brother and be at the same money.

I have a buddy with Ranger and I love it, smooth ride, will go anywhere. But it is loud! I can hear it driving around the ranch when it is about a mile away! I am looking for something quiet to go to drive around the ranch during season, not for working, his Ranger is for that.

I am back to just looking at the regular 2WD golf cart and adding a lift and bigger tires. That should get me.

Jes, you might consdier a mini truck! I have had many guys at the lease tell me how quite it is and its a beast for hauling stuff. You can get one for around $5K already lifted with ATV wheels. I sold my lifted golf cart and got this. The only draw back is if your over 6 ft and 225 lbs they are tight to sit in. I love mine and the heater is a real plus when its 20 degrees out and I've got several miles to go to get to my stand.

You really don't even need a lift or bigger tires, just maybe change the back tires to a mud profile...

If you are interested in a new 2WD cart you can't beat the price (after the tax credit) on these...I ordered two, a 4 seater and a 6 seater.

Here's a picture of one of the old marathons I have now...I just chopped the fenders a little and added larger mud tires on the back. They go everywhere I need to go on the ranch even in soft sand and slick mud...I'm pretty sure I could have just stayed with the same size tires and gone to an all-terrain pattern on the back and gotten the same result...
