    Feeder malfunction emptying feeder?

I put 250lbs. of corn in my feeder on Sunday. Walk up to my feeder at 4:00 pm today, my feeder is empty and I am ankle deep in corn. My camera was running, so I think I am going to catch the culprit. Deer pics last night, and this morning, no excess amount of corn. No pics after that except me walking up there. Feeder was supposed to go off at 5 and it went off at 5:32. A feeder malfunction is the only thing I can think of.

    Anybody ever have that happen?

I had a moultrie photocell feeder that if i used any battery other than duracell or energizer once the battery got a little low it would empty out my feeder

I'm gonna guess a American Hunter timer. Had 2 that would do the same thing after the battery went low. Ate a new battery in about 2 weeks. Piece of JUNK!!!

              LOL

That or one of those smart coon's that know how to strategically remove the lid and replace it with zero signs

It was a Cabelas brand digital feeder, been very pleased with it until now. Battery has lasted over a year, but I guess that's what I get for not replacing it. But, I didn't know anything like this would happen!

Were there some high winds where you hunt ? I have had feeders emptied several times because of wind.

What is the space between your spinner plate and the funnel? I replaced my feeder motor this year on one of my setups. Filled feeder up with 300 lbs of corn only to find it piled up directly below the feeder after a few good heavy rains. The corn was soaking wet and souring. Smelled it from a LONG way away. Poured one bag of corn in the feeder and ran the spinner and quickly saw it just pour over the side after it quit spinning. There was too big of a gap between the two and the corn just needed a little nudge for the rest to pour out.

I remember the other day someone talking about the feeder would not quit running and the battery was hooked up backwards(reversed polarity)

Obviously not the case with yours though

Yea me to, had a coon that messed around enough and worked loose two of the screws holding the feeder head on and out came 200+ lbs the critters ate good that day. I had the same or another coon on camera feeding the pigs my protein pellets out of a tube feeder. Just to say it the coons in my parts are in need of a carbon injection and they are on the top of the hit list. I got some help though my buddy and I were out on stand one morning and he watched a big old owl scoop up a little coon behind mama after feeling sentimental and letting her pass with the babies. The owl had dinner and not sympathy on his mind that day. He kicks himself for leaving the camera in the truck.
