Mathews are great bows. Wish I had their top of the line bow like the one that spits the arrow at IBO 382.

But I'm cheep and bought a Bowtech Liberty that is now 5 years old; but still throws in the 300 range.

If you don't know where your "wall", draw length, is then there could be a problem. As I understand it a Mathews is really not adjustable in draw length as a Bowtech is. Mathews owners correct me if I'm wrong here. If you're solid on what your draw length is, go Mathews and enjoy the great engineering and great bow.

I shoot Bowtech but I feel that I may also shoot a Mathews one day.

I've been shootin for more years than many of you boys have been on this earth. I've always been amazed at the advances in design brought about by great engineering.

I just wonder if the new standard will be 400 fps as the "old" standard was breaking the 300 fps barrier.

    Rock on!

        Not since they copied PSE.

It gets pretty tiring to listening to many of those who do not have a Mathews talk about all the reasons why someone else shouldn't have a Mathews either. I like all of the Mathews I've owned. I also liked the ProLines, Parkers, the Jennings, and the Brownings I've owned.

People are all the time making comments about how their bow just smoked a Monster, and I ask them if they want to race - they usually don't respond. Go figure.

But, I would love to have several different brands as well. I just can't afford to have all of the bows I'd like to have.
LOL..well there you go..weeks later the same comment brings back the painful memories. How I said it..LOL...you can only type something one way...black and white. I don't hate bow brands including mathews. I said the monster was a brick. I would have said that about any other bow if I felt that way. Even other mathews folks agreed. But thank you for showing him what I was talking about..you guys crack me up

              I think you mean 332.

400 fps is certainly the next milestone, will put a few multi pin sight guys out of business.

I bought my first compound in 08 (trad for 25+). Being left handed I usually do not get a lot of choices to shoot. Ended up with a Mathews DXT....wow what an awesome bow!!! But the Bowtech was good (did not like the vibration), Hoyt was good (felt each shot to my elbow) and the Martin was really good (too loud). Enjoyed them all, but my personal pref was the DXT.
My wife shoots a Jennings and it is a great bow. Ford/Chevy ????? What works best for you. Just enjoy it!

But it's a Bowtech? I've shot side by side with my buddy who shoots a Tribby and I can hear his, not mine...confused.

I owned a mathews before moving to Bowtech. I wanted the quietest bow on the market and that's not Mathews. That being said, I had some problems over the years and Mathews stood behind there product above and beyond. That made it very hard to switch!

x2 on the DXT...I too bashed Mathews before I shot one...lesson learned. I will not be getting rid of my DXT for a very long time, however I do like the new line of Mathews, would like to add to my arsenal with a Z7 or Monster 7.0. I owned a Parker Hornet 2 Plus--no valley, very unforgiving, Bowtech Tomcat--not bad for a 2 cam bow, Fred Bear Element--very under-rated brand of bows. Killed all my deer with that bow just last year!

Fixed it for you (toys don't belong with real trucks).

I agree though it's pretty much a preference. I've always been a Hoyt shooter and swore that I would never switch. This year, I'm packing a Drenalin LD to the field. Next year who knows, I may be packing a BowTech. It's more the person behind the bow than it is the bow.

But dude, you didn't call a single one of the other heavier bows a brick, or talk about how awkward it was to hold. You were simply wragging on the Monster.

My point is simple, if you don't like a bow just say it's not for you and perhaps even add the reason for the comments and move on. I don't like the longer A2A bows, but I don't discount them because many others really like them. Who am I to say they are wrong? What qualifies me for that? In the same vein, you're not qualified to bang on another bow such as a Monster about it's being a brick when there are many other bows that outweigh it quite a bit, but you mention nothing of them.

By the use of all of your smiley faces I see that you are trying to tell me to lighten up. I get that. But you're ignoring what I am trying to communicate to you: it's really easy to say things about other people's gear that will offend them. I would appeal to you to think about your comments before you post them and just reword things if it might rub someone the wrong way. That's all.

I get a new bow every year or two and I have to sell my current bow to do so. I have gone back and forth between Hoyt and Mathews for over ten years. I decide based on which company's bow I like more that year. So far I have only owned two Hoyt bows, the Trykon and the Vtec. Both of these shot fine and I killed a pile of deer with them. On the other hand I have owned seven different Mathews bows. My decision in bows depends heavily on their resale value. When reselling a Hoyt I have lost up to half of the original purchase price. I sold my Mathews DXT a few months back and only lost what I paid in taxes for it!!!! I now have a Reezen 6.5. It's a bit heavier than my DXT but being able to shoot one pin out to 35 yards with no hand shock or shot noise is very nice.
