How high do you climb in your climber stand? This is my first year to hunt out of one and was curious what is the highest anybody has gone? How high is too high?

I used to get about 25-30' but that was when I was hunting in Pine stand and I had to get up high enough to keep from being seen. It all depends on where you are hunting i like to get as high as possible but still keeping a good background cover.Comment

I am afraid of heights, so I don't take my climber as high as some. About 20-25' is as high as I will go. I know some to go much higher. I hunt out of a climber when we go to Alabama, and some of those boys out there who always have hunted the pines in climbers will go as high as the tree will allow. Some are crazy. I would say as long as you don't get so high that the climber won't sit straight or be able to bite, then you can go as high as you want.Comment

"How high do you get?"
I gave that up 30+ years ago...
Ladder stand is a 15'er set at 12' and a 14' quad pod. Gametamer is about 16/17 and ground blind is, well, you get the picture...
Putting up a Lone Wolf next time I'm out and probably between 12 to 18'. Have had climbers up to about 30' but not usually.

Keep in mind also the more elevated you get with the combination of a close animal may require a shot through the shoulder blades or top of shoulder. makes for a little thought of where to place the entry of the arrow.Comment

I go as high as the tree will let me, which has never been more than 15 feet to my feet.Comment
