    Cooper's Old Time Pit Bar-B-Que

Anyone had it before? They are building one right next to Billy Bob's down in the Stockyards. Had a crane out there unloading smokers.

I've been to the ones in Llano and Junction. Pretty good, but way overpriced, IMO.

It was once the mecca of Texas BBQ(save Lockhart) but with popularity came crowds and high prices. However, it will be a wonderful addition to the tired DFW bbq scene. It is a different style that most people love but some turn their nose up at it because it is not what they are used to. Great flavor and amazing dipping sauce. the one in Llano is a sight to behold on weekends.

I like Cooper's brisket. For a commercial chain, they have some good bbq. I can care less for most of the other stuff, but if you just get a half pound of brisket and some bread, you get a lot more value than on the other stuff.

I agree with the overpriced, and to me the food is good, but not great. BUT the 3" thick smoked pork chops are fabulous, even at 12-13 bucks each.

A commercial chain Cooper's is not.

Sounds a lot like Hard 8 BBQ.

Yeah coopers is ok but like everyone here has testified ..... Way overpriced but i think i found the most expensive bbq.... Hard eight in stephenville. Cost me 30.00 for my son and I to eat there...... The most reasonable was in Belton at schopf's ..... But to me the very best is what i cook at home !!!

Cooper's is very good but pricey. Hard 8 apparently copied Cooper's.

IMO, Cooper's and Hard 8 are alot alike. It is higher than your run of the meal BBQ but also better. I like Cooper's pork chops and pork loin best. I like Hard 8's brisket best. I usually spend about $80.00 but my wife and I usually end up with about 4-6 meals each from that.

I like Cooper's and think it's a good place to eat. During deer season you can swap stories with hunters from everywhere and feel like your still at camp. Kinda high on the price, but you won't be dissapointed in your meal. I've spent a lot more and had a lot worse.

I still love the Cooper's big chop, superior to Hard 8 in every way.

If you are near the new Cooper's in Ft Worth, I'd reccomend you run over to Angelo's for the best atmosphere (dead animals EVERYWHERE), coldest beer, and best ribs in north Texas. Support the old hometown standby when you can.

They are a chain now and I think that the only thing that all the new Cooper's have in common with the old Llano original is the name. They have nothing else in common. Way overpriced for what you get. I do enjoy Llano but you better take plenty of dough.
