please don't bash........I am not saying you can't blow up a bow with light arrows, I am just saying that I haven't and with todays bows, they are better constructed than several years ago. Also I see threads every day on limbs cracking etc, while shooting heavier arrows. Just my 2 cents.

I would be MORE worried about a slightly damaged arrow blowing up and providing one of those really sickening picture ops than the bow blowing up.

I too, have known folks that shot way less than 5gpp and never had any trouble.

I just think you're sitting on the edge of disaster.

Back in the early days of 3D shooting, most everyone was shooting well under 5 grains per pound. The only requirements were 80# max with at least a 125 grain point. I saw people shooting the Pearson Spoiler (fastest at the time) at 80#, 30" draw and using 1913 Easton's with a 125 NIBB point. Talk about loud and seeing bows break strings and risers. Those were the good ole days.

I am in my quest for my best bow for me. This will only be for speed. Each bow is unique in its own and I like each one. All bows are 27" set at 70 pounds. Arrow is a 25 inch easton axis 500 with 75 grain field point, total weight is 330 grains. All have same setup: loop, peep in string, wisker biscuit. All have stock strings except the blackmax has a new string that the bowshop made for me. Here are the results.

I believe i can top those number with the Mace @ 27" I shot mine IBO 312 or at least match the 320 at worse case and with a full 78 % let off

Lance After shoting all three bows this weekend i called chris to send me a new elite see what you started. That elite was so much more smother than the of two bows. The Elite is also so dead in your hand when shot no vibration or jump what so ever.
