My Speed Challenge, X-force Vs Tribute Vs Drenalin Vs Synergy Vs Black Max 2

I am in my quest for my best bow for me. This will only be for speed. Each bow is unique in its own and I like each one. All bows are 27" set at 70 pounds. Arrow is a 25 inch easton axis 500 with 75 grain field point, total weight is 330 grains. All have same setup: loop, peep in string, wisker biscuit. All have stock strings except the blackmax has a new string that the bowshop made for me. Here are the results.

    Bows:

    2005 Matthews Blackmax II 308
    2007 Bowtech Tribute 293
    2007 Matthews Drenalin 298
    2007 Elite Synergy 308
    2007 PSE X-Force 320

Lance, that arrow isn't even up to IBO specs ... it needs to be 350 grains.

BUT, those are still smokin' fast for a 27" draw.

    DID YOU BUY THE X-FORCE?!?!?!?

Very cool. Looks like the PSE tops the bunch. Which did you like the best?

Kevin, the "boy guy" said it was ok since I am shooting 27" and with the "stuff" on my string, I thought the same thing but he said it would be ok. Did I buy the bow?

I like them all, I shot the X-force about 20 arrows tonight at 22 yds and had several arrows touching, some hand vibration but nothing like that blackmax. Pulls smooth and easy, I think it was a good choice for the collection. I am going to have to spend a day with them all and see which one I like. They are all awesome bows in their own right. I want to see what happens to the arrows when I get out there a little. I will use either maxima 350's, X-weaves or Chetahs.

I posted a few months ago why I chose the tribute. The day I went shopping they had an allegiance, tribute and guardian. They were 29 inches. I am at 27. I shot all three around 20 times minimum. I was just going by pull, release, smoothness, weight, etc. This was in January. I thought it was splitting hairs, they all felt the same to me. We did not measure speed. I ran into a problem with the guardian at that time. He could not get the modules in for me for 4 weeks and he wanted $900 for that bow which was the only one he had. Since they were so close I put it down since the others were $200 cheaper and I would have had to wait 4 weeks to get my bow. If it were superior I would have bought it. The remaining time I shoot the other 2 bows and it was splitting hairs but I felt slightly less hand shock with the tribute. I am no pro and you may feel different, that is what it was for me that day. That is why I have the tribute in this test. These are all bows I personally one set up similar for me.

                  speed (silver) or smooth (black)?

I know it's subjective, but with all the bows set at 70 lbs, did the Xforce seem "harder" to draw? How does it load its energy to get that speed. Let me ask it this way. If the tribute is 70 lbs, what poindage would you have to set the Xforce to make them "feel" the same during the draw, if you draw them with your eyes closed?

Hmm, looks like the Tribute sure looses speed when the draw length is reduced.

Great read BTW, nice to see some speed numbers posted- same set up & arrow.
Of the five listed there are three I'd like to own .

I'm assuming you have smooth mods on your Tribute? Otherwise there would only be one Mathews faster than a Bowtech in that group.

I thought the Synergy would have been a little faster too. But I guess it's right on par with the easy mods. That XForce is smokin. When will your Elite Envy be here?
