Strange Things Found In The Woods

What are some of the strangest things that ya'll may have came across,or found while out in the woods?

Mine would be while I was hunting in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado,I climbed up into a makeshift bow blind over a wallow, and found that someone had left part of a 6pk of Coors light up in the stand, and tied to it there on the limb, was two bucks that were attached with some Flourescent Orange flaggin' tape that someone had left for the two beers that were missing out of the 6 pk.Naturally,I had to leave my dollar for one of the thoughtful survival beverages that was left for those in need!lol. They were pretty chilled too, being up there in the shadows at over 10,000 feet!

I was fishing once on Bear Creek Lake/W. Helena Arkansas and stepped onto the bank to urinate, looked up after finishing and there, stuck at eye level, was a 6" switch blade in the tree. Whose and how it got there I have no idea! I still have that knife and that was over 40 years ago!

Not near as rare, but weird to me. We have a place b/t Bracket and Rocksprings so we get lots of illegals traveling through. We are used to finding old trash and the like, but I couldn't believe that they had the marker or took the time in the middle of BFE to grafiti a rock ledge. They wrote in old english lettering and everything. Very odd to me. I mean really, how many people are going to see it?

I found what looks like an old cannon ball in Freestone county. You can tell that it was made in a mold of some kind.. Still need to take that thing and have someone look at it..

Colorado elk hunting, walked in nearly 13 miles and found an old spot where hunters use to camp many many years ago. All the cans of beans and other stuff in the area had dates of pre 1940's

I left everything there because it was too neat of an area

I found a Meth lab in the mountains in South Dakota. Me and a buddy was out squirrel hunting and came across a drug lab several miles into the woods.

Called the cops when we got back to the truck and gave them the gps cordinates so they could go take care of it.

I found a 30-30 rifle leaned up against a mesquite tree north of Noodle one time. The stock was broke but the gun was in pretty good condition for sitting out in the elements.

If anyone finds my socks, I suggest you don't touch them.
If I didn't think my opinion was right, then it wouldn't be my opinion. So, any other opinion must be wrong, therefore stupid.

I left a mesh face mask in Webb county. Don't touch it either. And no, no matter how many times you fold it, stuff still gets through.

I found a hand dug shaft about 6' across and 40' deep (in rock) on a lease we had west of Uvalde in the 70's when I was in high school. It was hundreds of yards from the closest fences/roads on a thick brushy ridge. I did a lot of walk/still hunting and thats how I found it. The landowner didn't even know it was there. We speculated that it was dug by prospectors in the 1800's. The unique thing about it was that it would be full of rattlesnakes in the wintertime. Somehow they would work their way down through cracks in the rock and winter there...I have literally seen dozens of rattlesnakes piled up in the bottom on sunny days in the middle of the day when the sun would shine down in the shaft...It never seemed "right' to shoot them there and I kept it as a pretty closely guarded secret for a long time...I just told my dad and the landowner. I used to spend my christmas school vacations down there hunting by myself (during the week...the other hunters would come in on the weekends) and I took a friend from school one year...I showed him the spot and asked him not to mess with the snakes but he went back and shot down into the shaft killing a couple of them...I never again saw snakes there in the numbers I saw before that...

I guess my stalking skills were better than I thought they were, I once stalked up on a young couple in full rut once. It was on NF land. She was a trophy doe for sure, he was just a cull buck! lol.
