We tried using just a light bulb against the thermo. to get around spending the $300. In less than 2 hours we would have a 1/4 coat of frost built up. We went ahead and spent the money and it has been the best invenstment we've made this year.

We were luck, on our lease was an old water tower shed ( 8' * 8') out of clay tile. We got 2" rigid insulation left on one of my jobs and put 2 layers inside. About 1 1/2 hours to get to 45 degrees. We have a total of about $600 in a 8 by 8 cooler (we bought a used ac for $200

      Dave,

I am in the masonry business. I would not used foam inside the block. the r value is too low and the webs of the block transfer heat.

For a cooler in Oct heat 3 to 4 inches of rigid faom insulation is best. Unless you have a scource that stuff is not cheap.

Blackjack AKA Wade Kubecka just installed one in their new walk in cooler and it worked like a champ at the Levi Bower hunt a few weeks back.

Any way to get me instructions on how to re wire ? I am almost to that point 8x8 walkin 4 " walls. Terry 715-559-4337
