If you shoot the 1 1/8zo shot in 12ga or the 1oz shot in 20ga, either in the 7 1/2- 9, you should be ok. We just get the Heavy Dove loads from academy as well. They do just fine.

That is some fine shooting, my friend. I wish I could shoot a shotgun like that.

Never had a problem with 1oz dirt cheap super speeds killing limits in 15 shells or less. Its just a dove only takes 1 BB. But if you need more AA makes great 1 1/8, and RIO makes a good 1 1/16. You don't need more than 1 1/8 unless you shoot a rem 1187 some of those need high brass to cycle

Check with Able's up in Hunstville, if he doesn't have them he will order them.

I'm just giving you a hard time, I'm horrible with a shotgun. Good luck this year on acquiring many appetizers.

I always shot 8 shot with a skeet choke over sunflowers or water hole and 7 1/2 with a mod for pass shooting. It works for me....

                  DING DING DING!!!

Rio's are a good company, if you can find them they're 7 1/2 and 8's are deadly

Why high brass on doves?? Are they at passing nose bleed hights?? Better use 6 shot too.

I shoot a 12 with two different loads that 'pattern' well in my rig. One is a 7/8oz load from Fiocci and the other is a 1oz competition target with only a 2 3/4dram push at under 1200fps from Estate. I have to order both as no one carries them down here on the shelves. I can hit harder and farther with these two loads cuz the pattern stays together and lead is harder.

The cheapie 1 1/8oz loads with 3 1/4 max dram you get at academy and wally have softer lead and deform easier and ruin the pattern. Yes, they will kill just fine but are not ideal for clays or fragile dove side birds.

You simply do not need high brass for doves unless they are passing at insane hights, in which you need a full choke and 6 shot.

Ditto, if you absolutely have to shoot 7.5 step up to the AA Super Sport sporting clays load or the Remington STS handicap Trap loads

Yep......This is the DING DING DING!.....

As said above dove can be brought down with a single BB.....or a good stiff breeze.. If you shoot less shells to get a limit with high brass then it isn't the shells fault.

I mean we are talking 565 bbs (1-1/4) as compared to 508 or 460 in the cheaper 12ga loads. 460 bbs in a 12ga 1oz 7.5 gives you 459 more bbs than you need....not to mention that 460 bbs is a high brass 20 gauge load..

However if it gives you more confidence than hammer away...its yo money.

I'll be shooting 20 ga 7/8oz because the yellar hulls are easier to find coming outta this semi-auto lead slinger..

I try not to get that technical. Whatever shells I have laying around will be the ones I'm stuffing into my shotgun, whether it be 20 or 12 gauge. If I do have to go buy some I usually just look for the best deal.

Good luck to everyone this dove season. This is surely one of my favorite times of the year.

My preference is Fiocchi White Rhino's in #7-1/2.
Fiocchi Power Spreaders in #6 if I can't get the Rhno's.
Rio also make a high quality product.
Try several different MFG's and pattern your gun to see which is best pattern.

There is a difference in 7/8 oz 2 3/4dram Fiocchi and a 7/8 oz 2 3/4dram, usually Winchester, cheap wally world shell. I try and only buy Fiocchi and Estate. My old A5 won't shoot that cheap Walmart stuff.
