Lots of awesome advice here. I remember my first shoot back in the day. I was nervous and freaked out too. Take all this advice, head to you practice spot and do just that; practice.
I'd bring at LEAST 6 arrows but 12 is better. Bring a small handtowel too in case your hands get sweaty. Distance is dependant on the club. I've been to some where nothing is past 40 and some out to 60 with an optional 100 yard fun shoot.
The most important thing is JUST GO AND HAVE FUN!
You will mess up. You will lose an arrow or two. You will make silly mistakes. BUT YOU WILL HAVE A GREAT TIME AND GET HOOKED! Just let them know you're new, ask questions, get to know folks and enjoy yourself. 3d shooting is awesome! After your first time, you'll know what you might need or not need after that. Folks will always be willing to help you out!
