    How do I get Started?

    I've been wanting to try 3D Tournament shooting for a couple years now, but I dont know where to go or how to even get started. Could someone fill me in on the process and the maybe give me some info on how the tournaments run?

    Just show up and tell them you are new. They will explain things and put you in a group to shoot. I have never seen anyone not get all the help they wanted and more if you let them know your new. Usually people at shoots are very helpful.
    Start at a monthly club shoot near you for best results.

        Banana bend is in Baytown.

        Try that one first, and they should be able to help you out.

          Most are 30 targets shoots. Its mainly just a good time. Bring your kid or kids. Think of it like golf you go from hole to hole except with a bow. You start at a certain stake and take a shoot at a 3d target. They have scoring rings marked on target. The group scores everyone and you pull your arrows and move to next target. There is different stakes at each target at verying yardages. kiddos depending on age may have a 10 yrd shoot and you may have a 40 yard shot. You compete against the others in your class. Its alot of fun I shoot with my 10yr old and we really enjoy it. GOOD LUCK

              Yep field points no broadheads. If you are good shot you only need 1 arrow. I carry 6 when I go. You never konw when you robinhood some elses arrow or you miss and hit a tree and break yours or tear a fletching.

                Is that your kiddo in your avitar. Bring him/her along they can shoot too. Little ones can walk right up to where they feel comfy at shooting the target.

                          Yea, She is 7. I need to get her a new bow so she can go with me. I just had a buddy tell me that there is a shoot in Hitchcock the 29th and I'm gonna go with him. Hopefully he can show me the ropes.

                              Just like golf as stated above.

                              10= par
                              12= Birdie
                              14= Eagle
                              8= bogey
                              5= 2.5 bogey

                              30 targets and 300 would be par (dang good) anything above 300 real good. 280s is about average overall for hunter class.

                              Just like others have said bring a few arrows and make sure to you are there to relax and have fun and roll with it.
