    Elevated rest ??????

I need info on installing an elevated rest on a recurve. Position, height and tuning procedures. Is there a right or wrong spot to place it? I have a Morrison with NO hole where a rest should be. I am purchasing a stick-on model . I just want to get it in the right spot. A link to a good tunig page would also be very helpful.

Try to place it where the arrow sits on the rest is right above the deepest part of the grip if you can and as close to the shelf as possible. You may even cut off some of the rest to get it lower.

Here is some tips for tuning....

Todd, When I shoot Sunday in Ft Worth I will show you what I manufactured to shoot off of, I am Shooting a Hoyt Dorado and I have made an elevated rest that works well with veins and carbons and we can talk about the process that I went through and maybe we can get you some ideas.

Thanks Oneway, I just wasn't sure if there was a certain height off the shelf or if arrow flight would be affected if I got it too high. see ya this wekend.

If you are hunting with this set up I would stick another piece of sticky tape to the peel off tape of another rest and stick that to your upper limb just above the handle. That way if you accidentally get it ripped off you will have a spare to peel off and stick back on.

After getting to my hole blind at a water hole in Wyoming I had a 90 inch buck come in and I started to load up and my rest was gone. I tried the shot with the arrow on the shelf and nocked a little lower on the string. I thought it would work but missed him by five feet with a badly flying arrow.

Just thought I would give you a heads up.

Put it where the arrow is touching the rest in center of riser as for height of rest just place as low as you can towards shelf you will move nock to make final adjustment as for tuning a flipper rest or elevated rest makes it much easier I shoot this set-up on my DAS recurve and it is by far the easiest set up to tune out of all the bows I have owned you will be able to shoot feathers or vanes equally well and arrow flight will be unbelievable.
