    Trail Cam Question

My trail cameras look like giant green "medicine cabinets" hanging on trees. They are heavy, have relatively short battery lives, and just plain bulky. On a whim, I just bought this Bushnell model, which is small, lightweight, and has an AA Battery life of more than 30 days on the trail.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has used them. It's supposed to take 5MP infra-red color photos as well. Anyone know anything about them? Thanks!

That's supposed to be a shield of some sort. According to the owner's manual, it moves into position when you put the batteries in and turn it on....... I hope.

Yep. Just put in batteries and it moved out of the way.

I like the stealth cams with the 12 V packs... I have two of them running!

Don't have any experience with that model. I do have a Moultrie D-40 and my only complaint is that it takes pictures during the day with no aminal present. When I asked, I was told that it is due to the sun and heat. If yours does not do this, and takes decent pictures, I would say it was a good buy.

Congrats on the camera, hope it works well for ya. I am so tired of setting out cameras and them failing for various reasons. I got a ScoutGuard550 and its a stud. Never fails and simple to use.

I am replacing all my cameras with these as we speak, but at 200 a pop its taking a while...

              Best of luck...

I set it up yesterday evening and left it alone for 2 1/2 hours and captured this one photo of a doe. I had it set on 3MP and I'm quite pleased with the quality, for a trail cam. I don't get along very well with "menus" but this one was fairly simple to use. Think I'm going to be pleased. Now to set it up in my hunting area and see how many ticks I can get on me while I'm setting it up.

Ih ave one I set up in Lampassas a few weeks ago and will let you know how it turns out when I check it in the next week. I used ut in by backyard for a while when my dogs would come out the doggy door and it worked well. I also have mine set on 3mp and think the pics are plenty good. I believe the package says it is supposed to last for one year with a set of AA lithium batteries but I think that is a far strech, but we will see.

Like the size let us know if it does what they say it will. Right now I am using leaf river and they work great and batteries last 3 to 5 months (4-d and 3-c) but the minues are some what confusing.
