    rattlesnake skined limbs

i found that 3 rivers supplys them, have any tbh'ers had any experience with the 3 rivers skins? hows the quality?

i have read articles on how to apply them... does anyone have any tips on this and is it as easy as it sounds? im pretty handy with things like this but i would had to screw up a good set of limbs

    thanks

I'm pretty sure that the skins on my recurve came from 3 Rivers. Bob Sarrels built my bow and put them on it. Maybe he will chime in with some more info for you. They look great on my bow.

          John,
3 Rivers Skins are as good as any you get elsewhere. The only thing I would caution you on is to make sure that you get the pattern lined up - if you are not going to be using a leather wrap or something on the riser then I suggest that you overlap the skins and trim them so they match perfectly.

I have used many of 3 Rivers skins on bows. Quality is good, length on a set is always very close, size very similar so the patterns on both limbs look alike. Sometimes the skins a from older snakes and a little tougher to apply . Never had a hole or anything like that to deal with. Take your time on the application and remember to remove ALL the scales. Apply enough coats of finish with sanding between to get good coverage. If I can be of help feel free to give me a call at 512 940 3098. Bob

I'm in Richmond just south of you. I did mine with a pair of prairie rattler skins. I could show it to you and we could discuss if you want. Just let me know.
