Does anyone remember how deep they buckled in Mens, Womens, and Seniors?

                Thanks

Top three in ladies class and they received medals.

                        Medals for women? Interesting.

I know that two of those women consistently kick my a** at shoots (and the majority of the men that "buckled").

I don't shoot longbow so I can't participate in this shoot. It seems to be run really well. The random and then peer ranked groupings and the two day cumulative result is unique.

By my count, there were only 128 shooters this year (out of a possible 250---50 targets X 5 shooters per target on a shotgun start).

I think it might be time for them to "loosen up" the rules to allow three under and possibly recurves (for fun shoot only) in the future in an attempt to fill out that 250 possible competitors.

That also might allow them to afford buckles as rewards for the women shooters.

I know that the rules are the rules. I also understand that this shoot used to always fill out the 250 available slots. I also know that it hasn't for the last few years. Times change. Maybe some rule changes are warranted as well.

                        IMHO

We were discussing that at the shoot. I think just letting people shoot 3under would increase turnout. They announced 147 shooters being registered, I was 127 and there was a line behind me. I was surprised when the women only got medals. They could drop some of the open buckles and still not have to purchase any more than they have been. Although , It was an efficiently run shoot and I was impressed with it overall. If I have to shoot 1 tournament a year split finger then so be it, I will be shooting everyone of them from now on. The atmosphere at this shoot was wonderful. I made several new friends and saw many old ones.

Had 180 something signed-up. around 13 no-shows. Lot's of people must not have turned in score cards. Dusty, it would be a hell of a lot easier for you to just get yourself a long bow instead of changing all those rules. Your wife has one doesn't she?

LOL Lewis. It's just a suggestion to make a better shoot out of a really good one.

I did sign Martha up for it in '07 and I went along as a caddy/ score keeper. We drove an hour and a half in a monsoon to get there in time for a 9:00 start. It was rained out, entry fees were not refunded, and I was later told that the '07 buckles were given out as awards for the '08 shoot.

She was going to enter again this year, but we ended up having to help our son move over the Memorial Day weekend.

If there were 180 shooters this year, what would it hurt to allow 70 recurve shooters to pay their $38 for a fun shoot?
