One tag left. Up early. Even though cutting up and cleaning and going to get ice had me up later than this fatboy likes Gonna go back and see if maybe one is gonna ride my side of the creek. If not I'll move it for the evening hunt.
Regardless it's been a good time.
Well the rain was coming in and I'd seen seven doe and fawn. Had sprinkles on me some.
This guy jumped the fence coming at me at a trot. Stopped under a tree by me. There was no doubt in my mind I would shoot him if I got a clean shot. He came out, hit him high on his right and out low on his left. Five yards from base of the tree I was in. He ran a good hundred yards blood flowing well and doing that VPA 160 grain 3 blade proud. Broke my nice Ron French Doug fir arrow but I recovered the head.
Raining constant here now. But that's okay. My hunt is over.
