It doesn't seem like a year has past since I was in Alaska chasing bears.
Me and a buddy are heading to Cordova, AK next Friday to meet up with our pal there. He is going after a brown bear with his Super Shrew and we will be looking for Blackies.
I am in last minute panic mode between target practice and packing.I am trying to cut weight on my big pack anyway I can. Last year I way overpacked.
Down to 3 shirts, a vest and 2 pair of pants for 8 days camping in the woods.
(I'm gonna have to play the wind)
No tent, just bivouac sack and rain fly. mummy bag. Two pair of rain gear ( I can't keep that stuff dry there). Taking only 6 arrows (those have got to get it done)
The Blacktail (usually take 2 bows)
So far I have drilled holes in my toothbrush, squeezed my toothpaste into a ziplock baggie and taken some parts off the frame pack. I have all freeze dried food, one little stove. Coffee pot.
Lots of waterproof fire starters. Water filter.
Leaving thermarest pad
Getting very excited.
