I need a feather burner...

I am in need of a feather burner, I see them new for about $100.00 but I thought I might see if anyone here has one they would like to part with.....There are some things I would like to try but I hate spending $100 on R&D just to see if my idea works....

You may want to look at a Little Chopper and chop your feathers to shape. They only cost about $25 and mine has chopped thousands of feathers and still works perfect

As ususal, I agree with Draco, I have the chopper as well and burnt feathers will get you kicked out of the house and maybe even the neighborhood.

Of course you project may require the ability to shape the wire how you like, if that is the case...good luck.

I love my little choppers. Just cut the quil to size and then put it in the chopper and hit with a rubber mallet. Presto, you have a new feather to glue on your arrow!

I think my project is going to require a burner....

I just hate to drop the cash for testing......which may or may not work....

Does anyone know how to make a feather burner? There has to be a way to do it....maybe use one of those old solder guns with the two leads that come together to make the tip? There has to be a cheaper way......

We need to hear about your experiment, don't worry about how well it will work.......we have all had failures, but it is part of the process of DIY. Besides, we need the entertainment.

sounds like my first quiver, covered 4" pvc with leather and trimmed the top with rabbit fur. everybody said I looked like fred flintstone.

I ordered some uncut feathers last night....in a few days after I get all my parts together I'm gonna be stinkin' up the garage........

I was gonna offer up mine, but I have no idea where the box is that it was put in when I moved. If you have a couple years, ugh, I mean months, maybe I will run across it!! Good luck on your project!!!

I'll try to make one....if that don't work, I may have to come over there and help you look....
I'm in the same boat, moved 2 weeks ago and can't find a dang thing.....

I plan on doing this build next week...after the fire trucks and emt's clear out, I'll take some pics and post em up.......
