        More like a foul tip.

I tried waiting for him to make the hand corn but he opened up perfect at 20 yds. Back feet planted and front feet turning away, bending him in a "u" shape right in front of me.
If he'd of stayed there, done deal.

His belly hit the ground on release. The arrow skipped across the top of his back. Had hair in broad head and a meat smear on shaft w couple meat/blood marks on feathers. Barely grazed him.

Back at it in the a.m. !

              No thought plan.

In a diff stand this am. Put hand corn out here yesterday at 15 yds (carried more in this am) and turned cam to it. These pics rolled in yesterday.

But.... didn't think this through. (Fdr just now spun).

It's a home made gmtmr type ladderstand. Not much floor.

              This might get interesting.

                  No deer

Maybe I boogered some coming in or perhaps it's this GALE-FORCE wind, but 0 so far.
Deer usually here by 715 followed by swine bout 9.

I have corn starting just past the short log. But in the dark this morn I threw most of it too far to my right, behind left fork of tree, lol..

I've shot a TON of deer from this stand. 90% of them between those 2 big limbs.

                  It's where I invented my patent pending "fork-shot" !

Good luck. It’s a might breezy here in OKC this morning. It was hot yesterday. I’m on the same train this year hoping to get my first with Trad equipment.

I may have bitten off more than I can chew (and ima fatboy, lol).

Gonna have to put another stand here with a bigger floor. I'm putting a gb out for Ethan today but prob too short for a recurve. I'm gonna have to have a treestand I can stand up in.

I shot all the hogs while I was standing on the ground. Way more better!

The ladder I hunted last night was fine. This one...... not so much.

Get them closer!!!! I know you are used to a compound, but this dosen’t work that way! Too much can happen at 20yds. I haven’t shot at one that far away in over 15yrs probably!

Keep at it, and get them in closer, like 10-12yds, and it will all come together for you.

                            Good luck!

                              Ok, new strategy.

Hoped my BIG MIKE blind would be tall enough to shoot from standing up. Not the case. I'm 6'2" so blind is prob 6'6".

But... its tall enough that I can shoot sitting on this swivel chair (be better if chair 4" taller) without bow hitting the ground or roof.

Had a helluva time getn Boaris out so I could take a few practice shots b4 the rain/dark. He loves ground blinds, lol. Imagine crawling in there b4 daylight and finding him, lol !

He finally gave me a turn and I fired 3 shots at 15 yds sitting on the barstool. Worked great!

Now I'm gonna change out the blind I just put up in Atoka for this one. Ethan can xbow outta it & I can still use the curve !
