It was a pleasure to host you and Bob at London Oaks Steve! What SJP51 didn’t tell y’all in his above post was that these were his first trad kills!!! Glad I was a part of it, and congrats again!!!
Here’s pics of Steve’s axis doe and big ole sow:
The shot was a little back on the pig, and the blood trail was scant, but we put Zeke on the trail, and he beelined right to her in a very short time! I had no clue if we were on the right trail till we ran right up on the pig, stone cold dead, about 125yds or so from where it was shot in a really thick shin oak patch.
Well I suck. Have sat for three days not seeing a deer. Three young doe come in at sundown, are skittish and staying out behind and to the side of the feeder ignoring the hand corn. Finally one approaches the feeder from the right. 15 yards giving me the "shoot me now position" and I whiff shooting just under her.
Thankfully at 6:30 a huge sounder came in and in spite of the low light I was able to put a good shot on this sow. She went about 30 yards bleeding like, well, a stuck hog.
