Am I the only one ??? I am noticing that there are many new people getting in to Traditional everyday. Is it the lure of the trad bow or is it the amount of fun that is achieved by shooting this type of archery? I do know that I have had many c-pound shooters comment that they wish they could have as much fun as we seem to be having when at some of the shoots...

WOW - I want to welcome any and all to the most fun your will ever have shooting a bow!

I am extremely happy I finally got into it this year. I have wanted a recurve for years but never got around to it. I shoot just about every day (just snuck in some shooting before another downpour hit). Every time I shoot, I learn something else about myself that is not letting the arrow go where it wants to go. It is challenging, fun, and rewarding. I don't care how long it takes me, I am going to get consistent, then I'll be in the woods after critters.

The FUN and CHALLENGE for me. I've always wanted to shoot trad at club shoots as a break from the highly competitive shoot schedule that we shot. Now I have a highly competitive Trad schedule that I can have FUN attending and be CHALLENGED as well. I love it and I'm here to stay.:

Nothing better in my opinion... have been shooting longbows exclusively for over 30 years now and I enjoy it more and more each and every day.

The only loose screw to adjust is the one holding the bow?

Im not ready to drop the wheelbow completely but i do enjoy the trad shooting much more !
Even though I cant hit the broadside of the barn with it, missing the target somehow isnt as big a deal. I just need to put more time into shooting.

It is great to see all the newcomers and even those who have been around doing this for a while.. More of us are getting involved in helping and mentoring others... hopefully they will in turn do the same.

There is a real joy found in watching the flight of the arrow. Simple pleasures are the best.

I enjoy Trad bows. It's the simplicity I like. When I use to shoot both compound and trad, I was always tinkering with the compound. Finally, after years of tinkering, I said, "Enough". Went to trad and haven't shot my compounds during the last 5 years.

I'm new to this site and posting on it, but I'm not new to Trad. The Collin County Club is a good mix of both Traditional and Compound shooters. My wife and I participate in 3-4 shoots there a year. Except for their TBoT there are always groups of both types shooting side-by-side (sometimes a mix together in the same group).

Quite often I hear compound shooters say either "I don't know how you guys do that" or "I want to start shooting one of those someday".

The Compound shooters do seem to be a little more uptight among themselves about competition and perceived "cheating". To me it's all good.
