A spool of fast flight, dacron, or what ever you want to buildf your srtings from. A jig. and a server. whatever serving you want to use.

Any archery supply should have the string and serving stuff. I googled string making and found a simple jig that looks easy to make. It's the string that I'm not sure about. What is preferred or best for Trad. Maybe someone else can help with that.

If you want to be safe use Dacron- some older bow tips fastsflight wont get along- Also make a decision on what type of serving you are gonna use and buy that- I like Mono serving although most folks don't use it these days. I'm still learning also.

Is there a book or an instructional dvd that anyone can recommend for making traditional strings and compound strings and cables.

Theres a dvd "Doing the Twist" for flemish strings
I've made flemish strings for years and haven't ever used a jig.

If you want to make endless loop strings you will need two bobbins, serving thread, bow string material, and a jig.

If you want to make Flemish you will need one bobbin, center serving thread, and a much less complicated jig, or you can get by with no jig at all.

For both types it would be much better if you could get some one to show you how.

If you live near Georgetown I would be happy to show you how. I have been making strings for 35+ years. I've taught all my friends how so I wouldn't have to make theirs. They still use all my stuff though.

I decided on trying to make an endless loop string for an falcon recurve. Im ordering a roll of B50 bowstring and I found plans for making a homemade jig online. Thanks for the help and I'll let yall know how it turns out.
