Great job taking her on the ground! Taking one on the ground is on my list. That is quite an accomplishment. One of my bear hunting buddies has a video of a sow sticking her nose into his brush blind about 2 feet from him. Bear finally smelled him, woofed and spun away. He says it scared the poop out of both of them.

Great job sir.
Thanks, taking a bear on the ground was a bucket list item for me also.
Great story, success and hunt! Maine is a great place to visit and hunt.
Is it? I looked at getting a summer place up there but the sportsman unfriendly regulations ran me off as a non-resident.
-No lobstering period (thanks to commercial overfishing)
-No keeping cod at all (ditto)
-A ~1% chance of drawing a moose tag
Not trying to stir the pot, I'm really hoping you all know something I don't. Beyond these guided black bear hunts, does Maine have much going for it in terms of hunting and fishing?
We signed up again for 2021. The Black Widow Hunt is always a great hunt. Tony and Lynn are great hosts and there is always a great group of guys in camp.
