I've found that I notice when I start getting tired my concentration starts slipping and I start shooting erratically. That's when I stop and either take a break or quit for the day. Sometimes it's 15 minutes, sometimes 45! For some reason my left arm starts hurting when it's about time to stop. Not sure why since I'm right handed.
I would say by arrow count rather than time. Example-
First week every other day 7 groups of three.
Second week-and a day same arrow count
Third week-get up to 10 groups of three arrows.
Something like this. Do not shoot too much at first. Really look at your form.
This is just an example. Do what feels right to you.
I have been having so much fun, I think I have been practicing too much. I shot for a good 3 hours on Sun (after shooting for a while Sat. at the Katy get together). I caught myself doing exactly what OlMan told me not to do: fling arrows too fast without truly concentrating on my form. I was having so much fun until I realized that I wasn't even coming close to an anchor. When i tightened my anchor up, my groups tightened up a little. I want to shoot as much as possible without hurting myself, or develop bad habits.
It would not be that bad, but they are MY arrows that he keeps losing....
If I was using my brothers arrows, I would do one of the following: lose his arrows on purpose to make him mad. Or, tell him I lost his arrows and hide them. Both get desired result: irritate him.
