    Arrow Test Kit

I’m looking to make up a nice test kit with varying spines and tip weights.

My main question is, should I get my arrows cut to 1 length for all the different spines, and use different tip weights to figure out what I need exactly?

I’d like to be able to use this test kit for future bows as well, and I don’t want to have to buy dozens of arrows and them end up being wrong for my bow.

I shoot a 27.5” DL on compounds and was considering having all my arrows cut to 30” and sticking with that length. Any harm in that approach?

I don’t cut any arrows I just use weight to get there but I draw 31. You can make a 30 inch arrow work with point weight if it’s in the ball park. I would bet your dL with trad is shorter than 27.5 but still a 30” arrow will be just fine

I would recommend trying "Stu's Calculator" before I purchased any arrows.

Don't worry about future bows, learn how to shoot and tune your bow first. One bow will keep you busy for a while if you do everything right.

I was thinking my DL would slightly increase with trad. I use a thumb release with a d loop.

Maybe my thought process was wrong.

Depends on form, draw weight and your strength...and alot more. Por ejemplo...

          Im 31.5-32 DL by measure.
          I draw 28-29-30” on 54#@28 60” recurve...
I draw 28-29-30” on 38#@28” 64” Sarrels Yukon longbow.... varying draws due to split finger, three under or flemish and face anchors
          I aint weakbodied.

You might be okay but you limit yourself. I like a few different lengths when tuning and tinkering.
