    Recurve Problems. NEED HELP

My uncle gave me his old Montgomery Ward Bruin. It was sitting in his attic for a number of years in the corner. Over time, the wood was warped and the top of the bow was angled. So when you try to pull it back, the string slides off. Is there a way to rewarp the wood back?? I know this bow isnt worth alot money wise, but this bow has alot of sentimental value to me.

Try the trad area or search google for warped limb repair.

Yes it can be saved. It seems to my recollection that Mike Palmer of Palmer bows said that it can be fixed. (My dad had the same problem with an old bow he had). I know that he strung the bow and left it strung and laying flat. But Mike said that he basically has to wet the wood, get it in the correct shape and then dry it out. (if I remember right)

some small amount of twist can be worked out. But it would seem that this is to much, polish it up and hang where it will be admired. if you try to shoot it it may shatter and be ruined.

keep it and just hang it up for show. You can check out tradgang.com there are ways but this one maybe too far gone.

If you are willing to spend some money there are bowyers who can fix it.

Hang it up and get a new or a good used one.

I think the above comments are right on. A good show piece for the bow rack.

If it was a special bow, a classic Black Widow, etc. you could possibly get it repaired. Possibly. Not worth it for the bow as you describe it.
