    A little tuning help please

I changed the string on my Horne Bushbow. I'm getting eratic arrow flight now, not bad but they aren't flying like before I changed the string. Can I assume (dangerous I know) that I need to get the nock point back like it was on the old string and should that take care of it?

I have some new arrows coming, should I wait til they get here?

    Thanks.

That would be my guess, nock point is off.

Is the string at the serving the same diameter as the old string? If it is bigger, then it could be making your nock fit too tight.

        Check brace as well

Get your bow press back out Bill...

Throw that old string back on. Measure your fistmele (the real name for brace height), and your nock position. Write them down as "starter" measurements. Put that new string on and twist er up or down to get that fistmele. Put on the nock per measurement, and go shoot a whole bunch. Don't worry much about flight yet because that string might have to settle in. 200-300 arrows, start playing with your fistmele and nock height. By then your new arrows will be in and you'll have to start playing (tuning) again anyway!

Go to the OL Adcock page and look for the tuning article. It is the best around. http://www.bowmaker.net/
