    Split finger or 3 under

I've been shooting traditional bows for almost 25 years. I've always used a split finger draw but now I wear no line bifocals eye glasses and they seem to interfere with my anchor. Today I seriously tried a 3 under draw and at first it felt very wierd. I continued to use it all day and now it feels right, bow isn't any louder and it's alot easier to get rid of the string as well. I also noticed that it slowed my process down" which I needed" and made my 55 lb Montana pull alot easier. I also noticed that my nose contacts my fletching for a second reference point. I'm going to give this new style some serious time, my shooting was good as well and never noticed the glasses. Just curious what everyone here does?

When I wore glasses, I had a pair of single visions made just to shoot. Implants now, no more issues.

I don't know if my wearing bifocals has anything to do with it - it might - but when I started shooting trad it did not take long for me to settle on 3 under. I like having the arrow closer to my eye and like you said, when my middle finger hits my eye tooth, the cock feather touches the tip of my nose as another anchor.

I think that I turn my face outward while drawing split which means I'm looking thru the frame edges near the nose piece. 3 under allows me to keep my head straight and looking thru the glasses. As anyone who wears no line bifocals know you have no pherifial vision at all. You must look straight over your nose. Man this getting old is no fun!

Having broken my index finger a few times as a youngster it now corkscrews inward, if I try to shoot split the nock is actually pushing on the finger nail not the pad. After 2 arrows of torture 3 under was my only option.

That is a good point. I have always worn glasses and even in my compound days I shot with my face more square to the target than most people. Shifting my eyes left and looking through the edge of the lenses distorts my view.

I've been shooting trad for a little over 20 years. Up until about two months ago, I always shot split finger. Tried three under more from a tuning standpoint on a new bow and now I'll never go back to split. For me at least, my accuracy and consistency has been way way better.
