Thanks for the info Rusty. So what you're saying is that I need to make a couple more of these and sell them to Scott?

I'd not considered the fletching catching on things. I'll try it out with some field trials as soon as I get time. To alleviate the issue of choosing the correct arrow for the game I intend to shoot at (or over/under) I'm going to use different colored nocks for the different points.

    Richard.

Yeah, a back quiver is not on my go-to list for quivers either. I like pocket quivers for 3D, I like my bow quiver for broadheads, etc. But I still feel like a back quiver has its place, even if just because it is fun to have something different. I've thought about making one, to have, and I'm now going to keep an eye out for an old army surplus duffel in OD green.

Sorry Richard, I wouldn't buy one off of ya... half the fun of having and owning one would be customizing it to my preferences.

          Nice work.

On the topics of back quivers; I never liked carrying broadheads in them, but I always used my back quiver when stump shooting and trad 3-D's. I made mine out of leather; it is still the only thing I have ever crafted from leather to this day, other than bow grips.

This is from back around 1998 I think stump shooting a 52# 66" Hickory selfbow I made. This was in SW Pa. I don't know if anybody stump shoots anymore or if it's even legal in TX. It was a lot of fun and good practice.

Don't listen to the haters, lol.

When I hunt I use a back quiver. I have never regretted using a back quiver, even once. When going through brush simply roll the back quiver down to your side. With just a little practice it will become second nature.

Ahh, Hobble, now you know I aint no hater! Just aint my cup a tea, that's all. No matter if I slid it under my arm, fletchings facing behind me, or whatever, just could never get used to it for huntin. I think this is kinda one of them deals like... some like tabs, some like a glove, split or 3-under, etc., etc. But, I will say I had a blast building all the ones I did, and still use em occasionally to stump/small game hunt. At least I hope I aint been stumping illegally all these years?!! And Scott, I think I'm just jealous cuz green don't look as good on me as it does you! Yes, I will admit, all your green stuff looks cool. Good Huntin, and God Bless, Rusty

That label people want to put on others of "hater" is very offensive as it is most often too harsh of a description of someone who just doesn't share ones opinion.

Sorry if I offended you... Honestly, I thought the "Big Grin" would let people know that I was joking.

Sorry if I offended anyone else.

No you didn't offend me and I saw it was in jest. I just see that put on people in an insulting manner in discussions on the ATC section a lot and it's unfortunate. It started out with the liberals using it labeling conservatives as bigots and racists and now it's thrown around in accusatory ways a lot. I do hate brussel sprouts though.

Definitely no offense taken Hobble! I knew you were jackin with me! I seen the "smiley", and gave ya one right back. I really and truthfully wish I could use one for huntin, cuz I think they look good. It takes a WHOLE LOT to get me stirred up... Had 4 older sisters growing up, now I got my wife and 3 college age daughters... If that don't make ya have the patience of Job, I don't know what will! Good Huntin, and God Bless, Rusty

I like the concept of shoulder quivers. Just not sure how to keep your broadheads from banging around in there and one arrow hanging on another when you draw one out. I guess field points/practice arrows are no issue but I'm not sure how it would work for broadheads.

You have to know how to adjust and use a back quiver for your particular body geometry. I finally learned how to adjust and use one, but my favorite is still a plains quiver low across the back.
