Yes sir, had a compound and didn't like it, so sold it for the recurve

I'm hooked for sure, learned that I need to practice more though, was going for a lung shot and severed the spine instead, upside is she dropped in her tracks.

It's my favorite size to kill, good flavor and easy to clean

It's a very good bow, can't wait to take a deer with her now

Definitely a good feeling, hog hunting is my favorite, so I'm glad it was my first bow kill

Not an accomplished hunter with the trad bow.
However, I will tell you I have yet to hear of anyone who has carried a recurve or longbow to the woods say that it always worked like planned.
CONGRATS on the pig, and hate to tell you this, but the ballgame just changed. No hunt will ever be the same. :-)

Agreed, never killed an animal with something so quiet, rest of the herd didn't even notice the shot.

That's very true, it's not like aiming a rifle or shotgun, or even a compound, but it sure is a lot more fun and challenging

                          Congrats!!!

I remember my first trad pig, I am certain I had pig fever. Funny thing, I had taken many hogs before, compound bowhunting, trapping, dogging (mostly taken alive). There's something about that trad bowhunting that takes it to a new level, or at least it did for me.

Make sure to add to the 2017 Trad Harvest Thread
