    Longbow question

I have been shooting mostly recurves in the 62-64 inch range. I want to buy a longbow and have an option on two Sarrels bows. Both are Black hills bows, one of which is 58" and the other 60". I pull around 29 inches and I'm 6ft tall. Will the shorter ATA (58") be too short for me? This will be mostly for target and 3D but might also go hunting.

With a 29" DL, I would go with the 60". The safest thing to do would be to call Bob and ask him if the 58" bow will handle that DL. Also, some guys (I'm one of them) just don't get along well with shorter bows.

I REALLY like my longbow and it's 66". I'm 5'7 and draw 27" No stacking issues ever , but the length feels more stable.

I would go with the longest. A shorter bow may be able to handle a longer draw, but the string angle and finger pinch is something you need to be concerned with.

I have a 60" Black Hills...I am 6'2" and draw just under 29"....it shoots like a dream....almost as smooth as my 66" Acadian Woods Treestick longbow...

Whichever you choose, you will like it....the forward handle design is very forgiving...

I think the length is a personal thing but I would go with a longer bow. I draw only 27" and can't shoot short bows very well at all. I can't seem to get rid of the string. I shoot a 64" longbow and 60" recurve. I actually preferred how a 68" longbow felt when shooting one.

My draw is a little over 29". I recently traded for a 58" Striker. It starts to stack at about 28". I actually like that. If I don't feel the stacking I am not at full draw, which is a bad habit of mine.
